I loved the idea of taking a plaid-type design and using unexpected colors, like bright aqua blues. This graphic gingham-style large throw quilt is built with solid fabrics in dark turquoise, aqua, and gray. It is made of 100% cotton fabric and natural cotton batting. The backing is a playful circle print in corresponding blues with a dash of lime green. The layers were quilted together with a simple pattern in an aqua thread that really pops against the darker colors. The binding is made of a coordinating aqua polka dot fabric and has been hand-sewn on.
